In this hands-on class, you’ll create your own stunning cluster pendant! A
beautiful statement piece inspired by traditional cluster jewellery but made
entirely by you.

Using carefully arranged stones, layered settings, and precision techniques,
you’ll learn how to build a pendant that catches the light from every angle.
From clean stone layout to setting and finishing, this class is all about creating
something that looks seriously impressive while building your confidence with
more detailed jewellery-making techniques.

The finished result? A pendant that looks like it belongs in a fancy jewellery
shop window… except you made it yourself.

CAN I DO THIS CLASS?
This class is best suited to those who already have some jewellery-making
experience or have completed a few beginner/intermediate classes. If
you’re comfortable with basic bench skills and ready to step into slightly more
detailed work, you’ll absolutely love this.

It’s a brilliant next step for makers wanting to develop confidence with layout,
precision, and stone setting in a fun, supportive environment.

WHAT HAPPENS?
You’ll learn how to:

• Plan and arrange a traditional cluster layout
• Prepare and refine your pendant shape
• Create clean, consistent stone seats
• Set stones securely and evenly
• Solder and finish your pendant professionally

You’ll work through the process step-by-step, learning how precision and
preparation transform individual stones into one cohesive, eye-catching
design.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
You don’t need to bring anything with you as we will provide all the
equipment and materials needed. Everyone will have their own bench with
access to all the tools required to make the piece.

Please wear long hair tied up [or bring something to do so], don’t wear
open-toed shoes and keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum.

If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you.
Making jewellery is fiddly!

Who is teaching me?

Scott McIntyre is a Master Goldsmith and Setter as well as being a Founding Director of Vanilla Ink CIC. With nearly 30 years of experience in the industry, there isn’t much Scott doesn’t know! After years of working in high-end workshops across Scotland’s Central Belt, he found his calling as a naturally gifted tutor.

Scott has a wonderful ability to connect with his students, making sure everyone feels at ease to learn in the perfect environment. His abilities, patience and top-class patter are famous, as is his love of a fine playlist [prepare for a musical journey]. He is thorough, deliberate and professional. Nobody ever leaves one of Scott’s classes disappointed.

Refreshments 

Tea and coffee are provided and there are always cakes close to hand! 

Lunch is 1pm-2pm

For lunch please bring your own packed lunch or there are a variety of shops nearby.
