Spring is just around the corner 💐 and things are looking up 🤞

Hello, how are you?  Hope you're all safe and well.

There's so much to tell you and so little time, as always!  It's been a busy few months since I last landed in your inbox.

But, the big announcement is that I am hoping to reopen in April, woohoo!  I had hoped that it would be straight after Easter, and I am still hoping, but I think realistically it will have to be the following week, 12th April. This is all dependent on the latest government guidelines, so fingers crossed we're heading in the right direction.    I can't wait to welcome you back into the workshop, it's been far too long 🍾.  It would be lovely to have a little opening day with fizz and cakes, I'll try and plan something in for later in the year, when things have settle down a bit more.

Hopefully everyone who was booked onto a course previously has now had an email from me about re-arranged dates.  If you've not heard anything then please do reply to this email and let me know as soon as possible as I'm starting to release the remaining dates.

There's lots planned for the next couple of months

  • One Day Workshops - there are a few spaces here and there, so you best be quick if you're wanting to book soon
  • Taster sessions - I've added a couple of new ones in
  • Summer School - I was excited for this last year, but it wasn't to be, but I've got grand plans for this year.  Have a whole week making jewellery, bliss!
  • The Fox Studios On Tour - I'm teaching a few workshops at the Cowshed Creative just outside Staveley in Cumbria.  Such a stunning place to stay.

If you click on the photos, they will take you to the correct pages on the websites for more info and to book.

Weekly classes
Again, I've reached out to everyone who was previously booked onto the 7 week classes and there is a waiting list for any spaces that may arise.  If you'd like to be added to the list then please do let me know.

Colourful world of anodised aluminium
I've also been dabbling with online teaching and have hosted my first few Zoom sessions on Aluminium.  After the success of the kits, it seemed like the next step.  I've already had students join from the US and Australia.  In fact, the lovely lady from Oz got up at 5.30am to join the session.  She's now ordered all of her supplies and I can't wait to see what she creates.
There are going to be some new techniques for aluminium and will add the options to the website soon, but resists, sublimation printing, pancake dies... it's all very exciting.  If you follow me on Instagram, then you'll have seen some of my little videos where I've demonstrated some of the techniques, but here's a couple of images of what I've been up to so far.

Heather Fox Jewellery
I've decided to have a bit of a rebrand and streamline a few things (told you I'd been busy).  Moving forward I will only have Heather Fox Jewellery for Facebook and Instagram and later on this year I hope to have just one website which covers both my teaching and my jewellery.  I hope you don't mind that I will start to share some of the pieces I'm working on on the Newsletter.

One of the projects I'm still working on is an online jewellery sketchbook course.  I regularly use a sketchbook for a variety of reasons, not just the jewellery, and this is a page I have been working on to show how to progress a design.  You'll start to see more of a cross over of my work between the teaching and my own making practice.

The You Are My Sunshine necklace has been popular over the last week, I took my 3rd order for one today.  It definitely is a favourite of mine.  I'd love to develop this range further but I get a bit stuck on what phrases to use...at this point my Dad will probably pipe up with a few ideas...let's see if they're suitable 🙈.

There's still so much more to tell you, but I will stop there.  Let me know if you have any questions about any of the courses, or jewellery, or just want to say hello.  It feels good that we've got a timeline to work towards, although we still have a long way to go!

Hope you're all staying safe and well!
Much love
Heather
