Beginners Enamelling Workshop

10 am – 4 pm 

We are excited to welcome Sophie Victoria Anderson to the Fox Studios. Sophie is a contemporary enamel jeweller based in Manchester.

In the workshop Sophie will share her skills to help you create beautiful enamelled buttons. Enamelling is a great way to add some colour and patterns to metal.

The class is suitable for beginners; during the class you will look at preparing copper pieces and using powdered glass so you can create your own unique designs. You will look at techniques such as blending or stencilling the glass powder to explore and create patterns. You will then learn about firing the piece in a kiln to melt and fuse the glass.

This is a perfect workshop for people who love colour.

During the day, you will learn:

• Correct firing process
• Colour layering
• Stencilling
• Sgraffito

Tea and coffee are provided and there will be a selection of biscuits and cakes on offer.

For lunch why not visit our lovely cafe situated just next door which sells a variety of lunch options and, of course, coffee and cake. Or alternatively bring your own packed lunch.
